Setting a tone that helps designers gain confidence and build amazing careers.
It really excites me to work alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry and gain exposure to their expertise. As a former individual contributor, I have honed strong design and leadership practices that enable me to provide coaching and mentorship to guide individuals toward top performance.
Over the years, I have successfully coached over 300 designers, whether by helping them prepare their portfolios, working through career challenges, or launching their design careers. I provide mentorship not only in the workplace but also through ADPList, a mentoring platform.
“There’s a lot we can learn from his experience in working with designers and design teams.”
Creating awareness for mentorship across the industry.
As the Director of Mentorship for the AIGA, I have facilitated mentorship pairings for over 250 mentees and mentors. I have also extended my mentorship services to the UX nonprofit PhillyCHI. Mentorship is crucial for career development, especially in design, where guidance and support can make all the difference.
My commitment to mentorship has had a lasting impact on the design community, and I am dedicated to supporting the growth and development of the next generation of designers. I have been able to connect with designers from all over the world and gain a greater understanding of the global design community, as well as offer mentorship to individuals who may not have access to such resources in their local area.
Moreover, I have found that this mentorship work has been remarkably helpful as a simultaneous resource for my own recruiting efforts in my full-time positions as a hiring manager. By staying connected to the design community and fostering relationships with aspiring designers, I am able to identify and recruit talented individuals who will make valuable contributions to my organization.
